halloween, part one

Last weekend we went out to the pumpkin patch with Auntie Katherine. Henry would have loved to stay as long as possible, but we found a good one within a few minutes. I'm not sure this made sense to Henry.

My first choice was the pumpkin in the front there, the one with legs.

We can't carve too early around here - even with our slightly less hot weather (known in the rest of the world as "Autumn") they'll rot within a couple of days. So we waited until yesterday to give this pumpkin some features. After a minute or two, Henry enjoyed his job of goop removal.

We were all pleased with the results!

And, just because she's adorable, here's Maria. (Thanks for the outfits, Jen!)

Nice pumpkins (both of them)! How did you get the jack-o-lantern to look so great?
