1. Chad called while we were sitting down at Legends Field to watch a Yankees spring training game (which for a Red Sox fan, was a bit odd). He said that he had sent home his camera and stove to lighten his pack. His STOVE?!?!? So no more rice, pasta or oatmeal? What does one eat on the trail but those staple items? I think he's crazy. But, he's the one carrying the pack, so I don't get a say in this decision. 2. So like I said we were at the Yankees game. Our seats were awesome- right field about 20 feet from the dugout, 7 rows up. We saw Derek Jeter and Johnny Damon from about 30 feet away. Derek Jeter is very good looking and Johnny is smaller in person than he looks on tv. The Yankees won, 9-8. 3. My keyboard won't let me hit enter to add a line between these topics. 4. My dryer is broken. Clothes dried on the line are getting old. It's nice once in a while, but seriously now. Everything's really linty.

He sent home his stove? Is he stupid? No hot water, no cooked meals? What about all the food he packed that needs to be...cooked? Hopefully he'll have it sent out again when he unloads some of his cold-weather clothes. Seriously, I wonder about him sometimes. And his camera? He was so happy to get it back (he had lost it) and now... no pics? I hope he comes to his senses and has my folks send him his stove. Hopefully there are firepits or something he can use. I'm glad he's doing this hike. I wish his last couple years had been better. I can't wait for him to meet his niece or nephew in August! :) -Amy
